1- Tell me why you pick this major?
My career goal is to become a veterinarian and one of the pre-requisite is a degree in Biology. The field itself is very interesting and beneficial.
2- What do you hope to do after you graduate?
Go to veterinarian school
3- Are courses in your major hard? Easy?
I think it depends on your field of interest. Some courses would intrigue you and others wouldn't so it affects the difficulty of the course. For me, the most difficult courses are math related however I suppose that most of the major courses are rather challenging but I enjoy the challenge.
4- What kind of assignments do you have to do?
Once again, it depends on the course itself and the professors who teach them. Each professor have their own teaching style, some would weight heavily on tests and less on assignments, others would focus on assignments and less on tests.
5- Do you like your courses? Why or why not?
I enjoy most of the courses I took but two courses I'm not big fan of were calculus and physics.
6- What were challenges or disappointments in your major?
Most challenges I have encountered were communication between teachers and other classmates. Some teachers rarely check their emails and would finally reply my emails after few days. As for classmates, it is difficult to get some of the students to meet up and do the assigned group projects together. It get more difficult as you take more advanced courses and increase the number of courses as well the commitments from different organizations and sports.
7- Do you have any secret tips for me that I should know if I decide to major in this?
Find a great study buddy from your year and you would need as much reinforcement you can take because there would be some ups and downs as you go along
